    Kelly is known as 'Mummy Sirius'. She has campaigned within the company for a complete focus on delivering excellent customer service. Kelly is responsible for managing our largest customer accounts and dealing with new sales enquiries. She is not an engineer so is able to speak plain English to those wanting to know more about Open Source and how it could benefit them. She has over a decade of experience in customer service and dedicates her time to ensuring our customers come first.

    Mark Taylor is a well known figure in the Open Source community and participant in the organisations that helped establish Open Source - now into his second decade on the front line.

  • Mark Cave-Ayland - Senior Technical Architect

    Educated at the University of Southampton with a MEng in Computer Engineering, Mark has a deep knowledge of enterprise databases, network, security, mail and directory services technologies. Before joining Sirius, Mark was the principal architect of InfoMapper, an interactive online-mapping application and resource repository for schools. Mark is particularly well known for his work as a developer and is a core team member for the PostGIS geo-spatial extension to the PostgreSQL database.

  • Alberto Serra - Senior Technical Architect

    Bèrto wrote his first piece of software on a VIC20 back in the 80s, to eventually become an RDBMs specialist after a short interval in robotics. His career moved him from Italy to the Ukraine and now to the UK. He worked as an Oracle specialist for large companies in Italy, from Ermenegildo Zegna, to Olivetti, Sipra and Autostrade. He later moved to CTO positions in e-commerce startups, targeting low cost high efficiency solutions, and taking a decisive turn towards Open Source.

  • Richard Smedley - Support Engineer

    Richard Smedley trained in horticulture at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and historic landscapes at the Architectural Association, yet, at the end of the 90s, somehow fell into working with Free & Open Source Software. Closely involved in the community - running Linux User Groups, education initiatives, and various software projects - Richard is happiest at the Linux command line, where all the behind-the-scenes magic happens on the servers that run the Internet.

    One of the newest members to the Support Team, Andrew knew from a very young age that he was destined for technology and Open Source. Andrew is a regular participant in the Surrey Linux User Group.

  • Roy Schestowitz - Support Engineer

    Roy is a Software Engineer, interdisciplinary researcher and an advocate of fair competition. He holds a doctoral degree in Medical Biophysics. As a familiar face in the free/open source software world, he has appeared on television several times and has featured in films. He won several awards over the years for his academic achievement, programming accomplishments and also various sports. Roy also runs the site Techrights, which has amassed hundreds of millions of hits over the years.

  • Paul Turton - Support Engineer

    Paul excels at helping customers maintain high availability of their core infrastructure. Often the first voice you will hear when calling the help desk Paul is also the longest serving member of the Sirius support team. Educated at the University of Liverpool Paul has been passionate about technology for as long as he can remember.

  • Carlos Ronceros - Support Engineer

    Carlos has worked with Computer Systems, Open Source Software and GNU/Linux, for many years. He studied Computer Science at university in Lima-Peru and also has experience on Facilities Management.During the past two years, Carlos has been working with small charities, migrant communities and black minority groups, helping them with their ICT Infrastructure and promoting the adoption and use of Open Formats (Standards) and FOSS (Free and Open Source Software).

  • Jane King - Support Engineer

    After bringing three delightful children into this world, Jane has returned to working in IT.  Before she joined Sirius Corporation, she completed a computing degree and began a career providing internal support in the insurance industry.  With time also spent in accounting and retail, Jane is now the newest member of the 24x7 support team.

  • Simon King - Support Manager

    With a diverse background in IT, Simon has performed in a number of roles from development, through quality assurance and test, right up to production support.. From the formative years playing with Spectrum and then Acorn computers, his education extended through to being sponsored by a large corporation on a Computer Science degree.
